The Morley Refectory Table – Scandinavian Elegance, Made in the West Country
Inspired by classic Scandinavian design, the Morley Refectory Table is a refined blend of timeless style and expert craftsmanship. Built using traditional joinery techniques and the finest West Country solid oak, this striking piece brings a modern edge to the iconic refectory silhouette. Choose from a natural oiled finish to showcase the oak’s beautiful grain, or opt for a painted frame to complement your interior. Whether in a kitchen diner or formal dining room, this table is designed to impress and built to last.
Pair it with our matching Morley Bench for the perfect finishing touch.
The Wood
We use locally sourced West Country solid, chunky 2″ oak as standard for this lovely piece which is full of interesting patterns and grain variations. Highly figurative timber with lots of contrasting tones results in a unique table every time – we may even add a little bow tie inlay if required! As with all our tables we could make this for you using other timbers such as ash or sweet chestnut (please do contact us for availability and more information). We make a point of wire brushing the wood prior to applying the finish oil to leave a lovely tactile feel and depth to the grain.
The Frame Style
We start with rough sawn 4”x4” solid West Country oak and machine smooth to create this stunning, substantial A frame style refectory table. The frame is hand jointed and using a classic oak peg can be assembled and disassembled with very little fuss. Available in natural oil finish or a variety of colours – the table shown is finished in ‘Marine Blue no.95.’ by Little Green Paint Co.

We operate on an 8-10 week lead time, but our schedule shifts with the seasons, depending on availability of materials and workshop capacity, so if you have a specific deadline in mind — or simply want to start the conversation — we’d love to hear from you.
